You Think You Are Smart? Take a Look at This

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

I am very grateful to Venkat Subramaniam who published this on Nov 27, 2011 in Home Business
Imagine two people looking to achieve the same goal: The “smart person” and the “doer”.

The doer makes plenty of mistakes but learns his lessons and gets on with it, while the “smart person” gets caught up in the paralysis of analysis. They think while the other acts. In reality, the key is to do something to see what will really happen, and when it does you can then add further solutions to take you to your goal. Many people get stuck in trying to work out problems in advance that they think will occur. The majority of the time, most of these imagined problems never come up.

The challenges that many times do arise, however, couldn’t have been predicted beforehand. Once you start taking steps you build momentum, and this momentum will propel you over the hurdles. When you are in action, new opportunities arise, new relationships are built and new resources come into view.

It is said that boldness carries with it a sort of magic, and this does seem true, but the magic here is the opportunities you create for yourself. Much of the time we only have the perspective to see one or two moves ahead, so the subsequent step does not become clear until that first or second move is taken. The quickest way to know whether you should go right or left is to pick a direction and go. Soon you will know if this is the right way – if it’s not you simply go another way! This action-oriented approach takes the paralysis out of the analysis!

While the problem-oriented thinker is still contemplating or debating, you may have made 10 wrong moves but are now 20 moves ahead. In the end you can either be a chooser or a debater. The debater tends to create a lot of excitement imagining but rarely has the desired result. Conversely, the chooser does things in the real world, and actually gains real experience and knowledge in becoming competent at bringing about real success. They also build a knowledge base that they can use in future experiences

So, You think you are smart and only been thinking for ever?? I know I was, you probably are too. Now get off the couch and go do something that you have been wanting to do it for a long time but haven’t done anything about. Trust me you will be surprised to find out what you are capable of !!
